Argentina’s wine country. Visited a couple of vineyards, including a very impressive organic one, shown here. The region is known for Malbec, but I sampled two other varieties that can’t easily be found elsewhere, including my favorite called Graciana. One of the highest quality (longest aged) bottles sells for around $500 outside of the country, but less than $50 at the vineyard. In Argentina, food seems relatively expensive for South America, but those of us who are not rich wine connoisseurs can buy an excellent bottle of wine for under $10.
